About Our Center

Our History, And Our Mission

Our History

Cradlerock Children’s Center (CCC) began as an outreach project of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia (UUCC). UUCC has continued to support the Center as we provide affordable, high-quality early childhood education to families of the Owen Brown Community and throughout Howard County.

CCC continues to achieve its mission by serving diverse families of Howard County and providing meaningful scholarships and care to families in need. Cradlerock is a Credential Level 6 program and has become one of the few childcare providers in Howard County to receive Accreditation from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).

As a licensed, non-profit center we are proud to service nearly 100 families with children age 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

“Cradlerock is a grassroots initiative, driven by and deeply rooted in community.” -Dr. Richard Dean, Board President

Our Mission

The CCC Program promotes social, emotional, and intellectual growth while emboldening each child to develop at his/her own rate. Our mission is to create a stimulating, values-rich environment for children of diverse backgrounds while offering an engaging, play-based program that involves the whole child.

We value our staff and strive to recruit employees who successfully contribute to an atmosphere of respect and teamwork. Excellence is rewarded here.

For our parents, families, and community, we have built a genuine, family-centered organization where quality educational resources such as workshops, conferences, and practical support are readily accessible.
